Fun and Games

Besides all the usual fun and learning at Nurture & Nature, here are some additional activities and programs our children enjoy on a regular basis:

Outdoor Play

Fenced in and safe, our center has two separate playgrounds for our Infants/Pre-Toddlers and Toddlers/Pre-Schoolers/Kindergarteners. Both areas are filled with swings, slides and sandboxes that are always a buzz with laughter and activity.

Carriage Rides

The private roads surrounding Nurture & Nature provide a quiet, shady place to take our kids for rides in an individual stroller or our nifty six-seat buggy. It's a trip filled with bird and squirrel sightings, not to mention great foliage.

Theme Days

"A Teddy Bear Picnic", "Wear Your Pajamas to School" and "A Salute to Winnie the Pooh" are just a few examples of the creative ideas our teachers dream up to make some days extra special.

Parties

Whether it's a visit from Santa, dressing up in scary costumes for Halloween, or celebrating a birthday, the parties we have are always loads of fun for the staff, the children and their parents.

Field Trips

Our trips away from the center are always well organized and chaperoned by parents. This past fall, we went to Emery Farm in Durham for a hayride and pumpkin picking. At Christmas time, we took the children to the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood for carols and cookies.

Music Lessons

A well-known New England musician and storyteller, Marcus Gale visits our center once a month and provides staff and children with musical fun and learning.

Puppet Shows

A renowned puppeteer Martha Dana creates dramatic stories with her hand-made life-like puppets.

"Wild About Turtles" Program

Mary Doane is a storyteller who brings environmental awareness to us through her music and stories.

Bike Safety Program

Every year, Exeter Hospital sends a representative to teach us about bike safety.

Fire Safety Program

Annually, representatives from Newfields Fire Department come to instruct our children on fire safety.
