Activities and Games |
We consider ourselves fortunate to be in such an active and giving community! Our students are able to explore the world around us through nature walks, picnics, field trips, and support from our nearby communities. |
Enrichment Activities
In an effort to expose our students to a variety of experiences we routinely have special guests and presentations. Some of the regularly scheduled activities that our students look forward to include:
Wildlife Encounters Students learn about and interact with a variety of animals they would normally not see in New Hampshire Monthly Storytellers and Musicians
Shawn Middleton "Touring New England, Award-Winning Storyteller, and Author, Shawn Middleton mesmerizes his audiences! With his unique style of storytelling, he brings stories to life with finger puppets, sound effects, voice dramatization, pauses, rhythm, sign language, mime and hip-hop dance. Children, parents, teachers, librarians, and community members will be educated, entertained and engaged. Audiences don’t just listen. They sing, clap, dance, chant, and roar with laughter. With experience in early childhood education, hip-hop dance, sign language and mime, Shawn combines a dramatic flair with great passion to create a unique style of storytelling. As a professional storyteller since 2000, he has brought his genius for spinning yarns to communities from New England to California, with the goal of fostering a deep appreciation for storytelling, reading, and writing." Steve Blunt "For over 20 years I’ve been teaching and performing for kids & families, with this simple message: Music is fun—and it’s something everyone can do! I believe that music helps grow happy, healthy kids and stronger communities. At schools & libraries, on recordings and in concert, I share fun, upbeat songs that tickle the funny bone, warm the heart, and delight the imagination—with lots of audience participation." Occasional Activities On top of the regularly scheduled experiences, our community has also provided us with unique opportunities including:

Outdoor Play
All classrooms spend time outside daily in almost every type of weather. The playground is a place where children can practice safe risk assessment. Learning to maneuver through uneven terrain and climbing are especially important skills that toddlers are driven to practice at this age. For preschool children, learning to swing, walking the balance beam, climbing and getting down from the jungle gym, and obstacle courses are excellent ways for children to enhance their gross motor skills. Teachers are there to facilitate safe climbing on various objects and guide children to climb independently instead of placing them at the top or on the ground.
Teachers mindfully provide personal interactions that model respect, kindness, and empathy towards others in the ways they treat the children. Each child is respected as a capable individual with unique interests and development.

We began a journey in 2014 to renovate our outdoor play spaces with a focus on giving our students a variety of options. There are two primary areas for outdoor play, a smaller, age-appropriate setting for our pre-toddler and infant rooms, and a larger space for our toddler and preschoolers.
Our Toddler and Pre-School Space includes:
