We're relocating to Kensington, NH!
We’re thrilled to share the future home of our expanded nature-based daycare at 98 Amesbury Road in Kensington, NH—a beloved local spot with a rich history as a country store, restaurant, and pizza shop. This approximately 5,000 sq. ft. building will be transformed into a warm, cohesive, nature-inspired learning center, designed to welcome our current students and up to 30 more children.
Build it
Located in the peaceful New Hampshire countryside—but still convenient for our Seacoast families—this setting provides the perfect backdrop for our mission: helping children build meaningful connections with the natural world. We’ll redesign the expansive outdoor space into enriching play areas, and renovate the interior to reflect a calming, nature-themed aesthetic.
Construction begins in early 2026, with doors opening to young explorers in late 2026. This new space will deepen our commitment to outdoor learning, offering even more opportunities for children to grow, play, and connect with nature.
Your Questions, Answered
-
Our current building owners will not renew our lease, so we must relocate. After more than a year of searching with the help of experts, we found a safe, accessible building in Kensington that aligns with our nature-based philosophy and fits within our limited budget. Renovating this new space will allow us to continue serving the community and eventually welcome even more families.
-
Nurture & Nature is a nonprofit children’s center. As a nonprofit, we operate on very tight margins so we can keep tuition as affordable as possible. Every dollar we receive is reinvested directly back into the center—paying our teachers competitively, strengthening our programs, and maintaining a safe, warm, and enriching learning environment for our children.
-
Being a nonprofit means we exist to serve families, not to generate profit. Any surplus funds are reinvested into the center to improve learning materials, outdoor spaces, staffing, and programming. Nonprofits like ours are governed by a Board of Directors made up of parents, may qualify for grants, and operate with a mission to provide high-quality, accessible care.
-
We are currently aiming to raise approximately $200,000 to cover the down payment required for the renovation loan. Raising more than this amount will help reduce future loan payments and allow us to invest further in enhancements that better serve our students and support an environment rooted in our program’s values. As a registered nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible.
-
If we are unable to raise the full amount needed for the down payment, the Board of Directors will continue exploring all available financing options to move the renovation project forward.
-
In addition to fundraising, we are applying for dozens of grants, exploring loan opportunities, and hosting community fundraisers. Every form of support—large or small—makes a meaningful difference.
-
If Nurture & Nature were ever required to close, our assets are legally mandated to be transferred to another tax-exempt organization, such as another 501(c)(3) nonprofit or a public agency. Assets can never be distributed to individuals, including board members or founders. This is a core part of our nonprofit structure and our commitment to public benefit.
-
At this time, plans have not been finalized. We are actively working with our dedicated build team to develop floor plans that best support our program and the needs of the children and families we serve.
-
We anticipate beginning renovations sometime before or during the spring of 2026.
